The Council in their infinite wisdom have fenced off one of the last bits of unspoilt open space in Poynton with barbed wire fencing.  What on earth are they
thinking of?  Is this how they plan to deal with Park Lane?

			<description><![CDATA[ A quick update having had a look this evening.

The work is nowhere near complete. In fact more of the bridge has been removed. However there are signs that the ruts resulting from earlier laying of utility
pipes are going to be repaired, as the surface tarmac has been removed.

The road is still passable by pedestrians, cyclists and motor cyclists.

			<description><![CDATA[ As we know, the tax on fuel went up 2p per litre from midnight on 31st August. On the afternoon of the 31st I bought petrol from the Poynton  Texaco garage at
105.9p per litre. I see the price is now 106.9p per litre. So either:

1. He jumped the gun and added half the tax increase before the midnight deadline, or
<br>
<br>
2. The tax went up 2p but the price of the petrol has come down 1p, or
<br>
<br>
3. He is subsidising us all to the tune of 1p per litre out of the kindness of... ]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[ Moderation of forums ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ A week ago, with the agreement of webmaster, I made knighs a moderator. This was because I would be staying somewhere with no wifi access for a week.
Administrators can also release posts, but for some reason don&#39;t appear in the list of moderators. I will still be moderating the forums as well. However
having an additional moderator will hopefully improve the reliability of releasing posts in a timely manner.

little emotional as he is going  to canada to study for 4 months.The time was 5am.We passed a police car parked outside the Deeba and were surprised to see it

			<description><![CDATA[ I have just been into the new Morrisons. Thought I was back in Somerfield. Apart from a small bakery unit and a small meat/fish section, everything looked the
same as before. In addition prices seemed to be higher than Somerfield. What have they been doing for 4 months? I hope things get better. I doubt if Tesco at
Handforth Dean or our Apple Tree are quaking in their boots.

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>As we are now a town we have a Mayor, Mr Tony Hall. Last Saturday he came down to Poynton Sports Club to open officially our new  tennis court which sits
alongside our current 4 all weather courts. What a pleasant man, totally devoid of the pomposity that often accompanies Mayordom (if there is such a word). I
for one wish him all the very best in his role.

Since then it&#39;s been invaded by <a title="himalayan balsam" target="_blank" href="http://www.rhs.org.uk/Advice/profiles0705/himalayanbalsam.asp">himalayan balsam</a>. It&#39;s everywhere - and not only in Poynton.
It&#39;s spread down Poynton Brook and Norbury Brook at least as far as Bramall Park, where it&#39;s rapidly taking over next to Lady Brook. It&#39;s also

I thought that I had heard Morrisons would expand by taking over Spencers which would move along the row of Queensway shops, but this does not seem to be
happening.

What about Boots moving from Park Lane to the old Pine Shop and Kitchen Shop on Queensway, thus bringing their specialised services to that end of the village,
