i am unsure whether anybody else has seen this in the well reputed, arguably "safe" streets of hazel grove, but this morning when collecting my daily pint of milk from my hazel grove doorstep, i was greeted by a character dressed as the pink panther.

i was somewhat shocked, and appalled by this and wondered if anybody else has envisaged such an abomination. i was too slow to catch the trespasser, but hope that he/she is found as soon as possible and taken into the hands of...

Travellers hit Stockport again

I work near the pyramid. Yesterday travellers set up camp in Hollywood Park, Edgeley, and today another group were taking over the Yew Street trading estate.

Would be very interested to hear of anyone who was in the vicinity of the Thai Restaurant on Buxton Road last night (Tuesday 17 March) between 7.30 and 8.30 who might have witnessed a hit and run. My daughter's green Ford Ka was parked outside the restaurant and when she emerged at 8.30 found that a vehicle had hit the front drivers side of her car. She asked around and someone told her they saw a white works van driving off but did not get the registration or any name that might be on...

Hi, I'm a student nurse currently studying at the university of manchester. At the moment i am on a community placement in hazel grove and as part of my assessment i msust complete a neighbourhood profile of the area.
Firstly, this website is great and has helped alot so thanks for that. And secondly, I was just wondering if anybody knew what the prices are like for using the local sports facilites in hazel grove. whats the price of using the gym facilities, badminton/tennis courts...

Why do people use Gypsy driveway companies?????

I can't help but notice that the annual influx of travelling driveway/construction companies has happened even earlier this year. So the fly tipping and caravan encrusted car parks and open land is an all too familiar sight.

Why do people feel they get a better deal from fly by night travellers than from a local reputable company???

The advice would be if you don't like the seeing fly tipping and unsightly illegal caravan sites - IS DON'T GIVE THESE...

Has anyone noticed that the Bulls Head has closed its doors? Apparently so to has the Gardeners Arms in Offerton and soon to follow is the Rising Sun. Will these become boarded up eyesores?

It's also interesting to see the former Mirrlees golf course referred to as a "wildlife haven". I would have used the word eyesore myself.
