The officers have undertaken survey work for this and funding is in place from the flat development on the bend. Plans are being drawn up and I will put them
to public consultation as soon as they can agree the exact location. There are sightline problems at Avondale so the officers are looking at Windsor Road
instead.

An update on this one.
Contractors are scheduled to start on site after
completion of the upgrade of lights on Chester Rd and Dean Lane/Jacksons Lane this is in approx 11 weeks time. I am told the 11th August is likely though this
may change .
At last it will be safer to get to the Park for the kids and elderly residents, of which I am becoming, more rapidly than I would like. |

Just a quickie - it is correct that a crossing at the top of Hazelwood Road across to the Day Centre is included as part of the cross Hazel Grove cycle route
under discussion. The hole in the wall next to the day Centre is an early step and I believe the main obstruction is deciding which type of crossing to use.
The route is then proposed to use Douglas Road and across on to Commercial Road and through Peter Street to Sainsburys. You will also see that the alleyway on
Peter Street as been designated as shared use for pedestrians and cyclists.

The next csossing for this is at Alma Road across the A6 and is out to consultation at the moment. |

Lack of Action - Stockport Liberal Council! | ||

I cannot believe the level of inactivity with the Liberal-run Stockport council when it comes to this issue, we have been asking for a crossing at Torkington / Avondale or Windsor for more months than I care to mention. This real issue of danger for everyone and we need action from the council. Have the surveys been done, is this being addressed in council meetings, what do we have to do to make the council sit up and take action? |
