I am sure a lot of you will say it is my own fault but I think it is absolutely ridiculous that because I parked for literally 5 minutes, if it was even that, in the car park by the Orange Tree, I got a £60 ticket. It was 5.10pm, the car park was almost empty, I went into the co-op to buy one thing, no queue at till and there he was, a little jobsworth already stuck a ticket on. Surely he could've waited 15 minutes. The house next door but one got burgled two nights ago, they will get away with it, my friend had to take the day off work yesterday because the house next door to her all the back was smashed in, and as the neighbours don't actually live there she had to sort it, they will get away with it. But me no, 5 minutes in a car park doing no harm whatsoever. So watch out for the little jobsworth called John lying in wait.

Erm....you knew it was a pay car park before you entered right?
You deliberately didn't pay, right? That would be theft then, right? Worry about YOUR actions rather than anyone elses, IMO. |

No - that bit of the car park is not a paying car park - it does not have a machine. I deliberately didn't pay because I believed after 5pm when the office
closes the car park is available for general use - customers of the Orange Tree pub use it. It isn't theft at all - what is theft is the £60. I used to
work for one of the companies who used the car park during the day - and after 5pm the general public used it, if not before. So yes I will worry about little
jobsworth who quite frankly next time I see him I will run him over - and perhaps you with it.

Well it would be easy to run me over - I don't move very fast.
So, if it is NOT a pay car park after 5pm, (I don't know - never been in it) then you should be able to dispute the ticket and get a resolution very quickly. Have you tried phoning and if so, did they agree it was free after 5pm, you were parked after 5pm and therefore, the ticket man was in the wrong? |
